Our Wedding

Our story began with a match on Hinge, and it didn’t take long for life together to become an adventure! Within our first year of dating, Alec cheered Hattie on through a half marathon where he met her parents for the first time, joined her family on a trip to Italy (including a very cold bike ride in Vienna that we still laugh about), introduced Hattie to his family in New York City, and took her to Nantucket, Alec's favorite place in the world.Nantucket quickly became a special place for both of us. We’ve returned every summer since, spending time with Alec’s family and making our own memories along the way. It became even more meaningful when Alec proposed there, making a place that had been part of his family’s story for years part of ours, too.Santa Fe has become just as special to us. After Hattie’s parents bought a home there, we began taking trips together and quickly fell in love with the town. It was in Santa Fe that Alec asked Hattie’s dad for her hand in marriage—almost a full year before the proposal! Now, it will also be the place where we get married.In between all of our travels, some of our favorite memories have been made simply at home together in Houston. We rescued our two cats, Pumpkin and Peanut, who have very quickly taken over our home and our hearts. While Alec has converted Hattie to a cat person, Hattie has converted Alec into an Aggie fan—complete with a growing collection of maroon—and fall weekends now mean plenty of Aggie football. Most of all, we love to cook together. Alec is the much more talented chef, and some of our favorite nights are spent in the kitchen making everything from beef Wellington and truffle risotto to duck confit and chocolate espresso crème brûlée.From summers in Nantucket to weekends in Santa Fe—and all of the ordinary nights at home in between—these years have given us so many memories together. We can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter with all of you!
